We have over the last couple of days been publishing, testing and bugfixing a lot on www.moviecodec.com and lounge.moviecodec.com. The intent has been to roll-out a large amount of internal changes that should bring about better quality in the code, better overall responsiveness and a higher degree of precision (every complex update – involving more than one query – is now done in a transaction to ensure consistency).
The result thus far has been very good. It does not appear to have solved ALL performance issues, but it has improved. Noticeably posting speed has been improved quite a bit, and the site should have less outages caused by too great a load / simultanous users. We will continue to tweak it over the coming months.
